On the basis of the Pavel Sudoplatov Volunteer Battalion in Zaporozhye region, a school for training drone operators has been established, and the production of FPV attack drones for the needs of units performing combat tasks of a special military operation has been set up.

“In a small room on the front line, fighters of the volunteer battalion manufacture hundreds of kamikaze drones. In two days, one 3D printer is able to print all the parts for the drone, then from them they assemble the finished structure, equip it with electronics and program it,” the official TG-channel of the Russian Defence Ministry said.

During practical classes at the drone operator training school, servicemen are taught to dive, keep the horizon, hit small openings, and correctly position themselves for artillery adjustments. One FPV drone operator needs a minimum of one hundred hours of training flight time. The training of servicemen is conducted under the guidance of instructors and mentors who have extensive combat experience in the use of reconnaissance drones and FPV attack drones.

The main task of the school is to train on the models produced here for their further use in combat conditions. In order to understand the features of drones, the principles of its operation and to be able to troubleshoot if necessary, the operators study the design of UAVs – the entire technical part, learn to design and program attack drones, with a soldering iron make control boards and make a complete assembly of drones.

Initial flight training takes place on special simulators simulating field and urban conditions, then the operator is allowed to fly on the range, where flights are carried out with a weighted mock-up of combat load. And only after passing the entire cycle of training: from drone manufacturing to its use, the fighters are allowed to perform real tasks to defeat VFU targets, the military ministry said in a video.
