The United Aircraft Corporation (UAC) has delivered another batch of Su-35S multi-role fighter aircraft to the Russian Aerospace Forces (VKS). The aircraft successfully completed the full cycle of factory testing, were accepted by technical specialists, and underwent evaluation flights by Ministry of Defense test pilots under various operational regimes, according to a UAC press release.
The handover took place at the Dzyomgi Airfield, part of the Yuri Gagarin Komsomolsk-on-Amur Aircraft Plant (KnAAZ). VKS pilots expressed appreciation for the manufacturer, highlighting the aircraft’s reliability, advanced technology, and combat survivability.
“In line with directives from the Russian Minister of Defense, VKS crews have accepted the Su-35S fighters. These aircraft will be deployed for special military operations and for state border protection. The Su-35S is capable of executing the full spectrum of air support missions, ranging from escorting airborne assets to defending ground installations,” a Su-35S pilot commented on the delivery.

According to Oleg Yevtushenko, Executive Director of Rostec State Corporation, Russian aviation enterprises are maintaining a high production rate of combat aircraft as part of the state defense order. “Several Su-35S batches have already been delivered in 2025, and the process continues – new aircraft are currently in production for subsequent deliveries,” he stated.
The Su-35S is among the most capable Generation 4++ combat fighters. Its weapons suite includes long-range air-to-air and air-to-surface guided missiles. The aircraft is equipped with advanced electronic warfare (EW) systems, state-of-the-art radar, and avionics. The Su-35S serves as a technological bridge to fifth-generation combat aircraft. Its powerplant, featuring AL-41F1S engines with digital control and thrust vectoring, significantly enhances flight performance and maneuverability.
This delivery marks the fourth batch of Su-35S fighters handed over to the VKS in 2025. UAC transferred the first batch on March 29, the second on May 12, and the third entered service on June 25. The specific quantity and tail numbers of aircraft in each batch remain undisclosed. Earlier in August 2025, the VKS also received a third batch of new Su-34 frontline bombers, further expanding Russia’s tactical aviation fleet.
