Rossiya Airlines has equipped check-in counters at Pulkovo Airport with devices for accepting payments for additional services. The introduction of the technology was made possible by joining the “Mobile Cash Desk” service launched in St. Petersburg’s air harbour, the airline’s press service reported.

“Mobile cash desk” is located at each check-in desk of both domestic and foreign flights of the airline from Pulkovo. The very automation of the process of registration of additional services and its integration with the booking system of Rossiya Airlines will maximise the time for service in the common area, which will make it possible to avoid crowding of passengers at check-in.

Thanks to the launch of the service, Rossiya passengers departing from Pulkovo can pay for the carrier’s additional services, such as excess baggage, Space+ seats and service class upgrades, without going to the airline’s ticket offices. The list of services offered for payment at the Mobile Checkout will be adjusted depending on demand.

The Mobile Cash Desk project was launched on the basis of Russian software jointly with Sirena-Travelling, a domestic supplier of information technologies for transport industry enterprises, and the executive body of the Air Transport Settlement System. Payment for services through the Mobile Cashier service is possible using bank cards and wearable devices with NFC technology.

Earlier, electronic boarding passes became available for passengers travelling on the airline’s flights from St. Petersburg to other regions of the country. A QR code on a mobile device can be received at the stage of online check-in, and a paper copy of the document is not required.
