The Ural Civil Aviation Plant (UZGA) and KrasAvia have signed a letter of intent providing for the purchase of 20 TVRS-44 Ladoga turboprop regional jets by the Krasnoyarsk air carrier from 2026 to 2030 and arranging pilot operation of the Ladoga aircraft in actual geographic and climatic conditions of Siberia and the Arctic zone of the Russian Federation. This was reported by the press service of the UZGA.

Signatures under the agreement were put by the interim general director of JSC UZGA Sergey Fedorov and the general director of JSC KrasAvia Andrey Egorov. The signing took place on March 2, 2023 on the Krasnoyarsk Economic Forum.

According to the document, the parties expect to agree and sign a preliminary contract for the supply of aircraft no later than June 2024, which will include a delivery schedule for the aircraft, indicative prices and other significant terms of the deal. It is assumed that the aircraft will be delivered in the convertible cargo-passenger configuration, allowing to change the configuration of the aircraft cabin by the operator. The instrumentation will allow day and night operation of the plane, in difficult weather conditions, and the availability of modern cabin equipment will provide passengers with a high level of comfort.

The parties also agreed to jointly study the organization of controlled operation of the third prototype of TVRS-44 Ladoga aircraft in the real geographical and climatic conditions of Siberia and the Arctic zone of the Russian Federation.

“The controlled operation will speed up the completion of flight certification tests and will contribute to the successful commissioning of the Ladoga serial aircraft demanded in the Siberian Federal District,” said Sergei Fedorov.

In his turn Andrey Egorov noted that the intention to purchase a large batch of TVRS-44 aircraft is a part of the strategic plan, which also includes participation in the creation of the After-Sales Service Center (ASSC) at Krasnoyarsk airport.

“It is impossible to imagine the Krasnoyarsk region, and the whole of Russia, without a modern efficient regional aircraft. We have staked on the Ladoga, we want to be the first in its development. The linkage of the base operator and the PFS Center will ensure the quickest development and effective operation of the Ladoga”, – he said.
