KrasAvia will become the starting operator of TVRS-44 Ladoga

Krasnoyarsk Economic Forum KEF-2023 was held on March 1-3 was the venue for signing of the letter of intent between the Ural Civil Aviation Plant (UZGA) and KrasAvia for the delivery of 20 TVRS-44 Ladoga turboprop regional aircraft in 2026-2030 in a convertible cargo/passenger configuration. The UZGA informed that the parties expect to sign a contract for the supply of aircraft, including the schedule for handing over the aircraft to the customer, their cost and other significant terms of the deal, not later than June 2024.

The agreement also provides for a controlled operation of the third prototype TVRS-44 “in the real geographical and climatic conditions of Siberia and the Arctic zone of the Russian Federation” on the basis of KrasAvia.

“The supervised operation will speed up the completion of flight certification tests and contribute to the successful commissioning of Ladoga serial aircraft in demand in the Siberian Federal District,” stressed Sergey Fedorov, interim director general of UZGA JSC, in this regard. Andrey Egorov, general director of KrasAvia, pointed out that the air company will take part in establishing the After-Sales Service Center for this aircraft type at Krasnoyarsk airport in addition to purchasing a large lot of TVRS-44s.

The development of the TVRS-44 Ladoga turboprop regional aircraft equipped with two TV7-117ST-02 engines with takeoff power of 2400 h.p. and designed to carry 40-50 passengers is carried out by UZGA under the state contract concluded with the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia in December 2020.

At present, the airframe units for the first copies of the TVRS-44 are being manufactured at the Aviacor plant in Samara and the Smolensk aircraft plant. The final assembly of the aircraft will be carried out at the UZGA. The first flight of TVRS-44 should take place in 2024, while getting the type certificate and launching into series production is planned for 2025.
