The Northern Capital Gateway company announced the launch of a mobile boarding pass service for all carriers flying to Russian destinations at Pulkovo Airport on March 1.

The Mobile Boarding Pass project has been launched on the basis of Russian software developed by Neolabs. The introduction of the new service is the next step in the digital transformation and improvement of airport services.

To use the service, passengers need to check in online and receive an electronic boarding pass. To go through pre-flight check and board the flight, the boarding pass will need to be presented on a mobile device

“The growth of passenger traffic in 2023 and the import substitution policy pursued by the airport as part of the industrial competence center “Airports” dictate new requirements to the IT landscape of the enterprise and the systems that form it in order to maintain the highest quality of passenger service. At Pulkovo, the system was deployed in a record time of one month. The service is aimed at travelers planning a flight with hand luggage,” said Chief Operating Officer of Northern Capital Gateway Andrei Drobovich.

“Pulkovo Airport is known as one of the most actively transforming Russian airports’ IT landscape, consistently and structurally implementing its import substitution strategy and adapting both its own and advanced domestic software products within its framework. And this transformation is successful for our colleagues in conditions of progressive growth of passenger traffic, which significantly complicates the task and makes it unique for our market in the current period of time,” commented NeoLabs CEO Alexander Semchenko.
