Within the framework of the International Industrial Exhibition Innoprom in Yekaterinburg, a comprehensive interdepartmental programme on cooperation between the Russian Federation and the Republic of Belarus in the field of aircraft construction was signed. This is reported by the State Committee for Military Industry of Belarus in its Telegram channel.
The document was signed by Chairman of the State Military-Industrial Committee of the Republic of Belarus Dmitry Pantus and Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation Oleg Bocharov.
Agreements in principle have been reached on the joint development and organisation of serial production of a 19-seat turboprop passenger aircraft in the Republic of Belarus.
The action plan for the implementation of this project was signed by the heads of JSC “Ural Civil Aviation Plant” and JSC “558 Aviation Repair Plant”.
Earlier, at the HeliRussia-2023 exhibition, Oleg Bocharov reported that Russia and Belarus will develop and produce an aircraft with non-retractable landing gear. The main priority is to limit the cost of flight hours and production costs. According to him, the VK-800 engine will be used as part of the new aircraft’s propulsion system, while the onboard equipment will be a complex developed by KRET in 2019.
