In the field of air transport, the Russian Federation and the Republic of Belarus have signed an intergovernmental agreement on the collection of air navigation and airport fees and tariffs. This was stated by Deputy Prime Minister of Belarus Anatoly Sivak during a joint session of the House of Representatives and the Council of the Republic, BelTA informs.
“The implementation of the agreement will allow to ensure equal tariff conditions in the provision of airport services and air navigation services to aircraft operators of both states from 1 January 2025,” said Anatoli Sivak.
In accordance with the agreement, when flights are performed by Russian and Belarusian airlines, fees and tariffs at airports are charged according to the rates established by the legislation of the state receiving the aircraft. At the same time, the size of such fees should not exceed the size of similar fees charged from the airlines of their state, performing international flights.
Anatoli Sivak also noted that Belavia performs regular flights to 21 airports in ten countries, while work on the development of eastern and southern directions of flights is ongoing. And Minsk airport has served more than 1.6 million passengers for eight months of 2023.
“Work to load Minsk National Airport is focused on attracting airlines, primarily Russian airlines, as well as developing new destinations for passenger and cargo traffic. Flights on a regular basis are operated by ten carriers. The number of passengers served at the National Airport Minsk for eight months amounted to 1 million 656 thousand 500 people, which is 128.5% compared to the same period last year,” said Deputy Prime Minister of Belarus.
