AZUR air has received Russian regulatory approval to expand its aircraft maintenance capability to include off-wing maintenance of CF6-80C2 and PW4000-94 engines powering its Boeing 767 fleet.
The airline’s revised maintenance approval includes a B1 rating covering engines removed from the aircraft. This permits AZUR air to carry out scheduled maintenance, service bulletin incorporation and modifications, as well as removal and installation of engine components and associated systems.
The approval also covers engine preservation and storage, together with engine ground runs across the full operating range.
AZUR air can now perform the approved work on engines from its own Boeing 767 fleet without using third-party maintenance providers. The capability is also available for the same engine types operated by other carriers.
The expanded approval is intended to reduce engine maintenance turnaround times and increase the airline’s in-house maintenance capability.
