Red Wings airline expands its fleet and puts into operation a new regional short-haul aircraft Superjet 100, the machine will start flying on the Red Wings route network from 28 November. This was reported in the press service of the carrier.
The aircraft with the flight number RA-89192 was manufactured in 2022 by the Komsomolsk-on-Amur Aviation Plant named after Yuri Gagarin. It made its first flight on 19 September 2022 under the temporary flight number 97019. The factory number of the Superjet RA-89192 is 95228. Before being transferred to the Red Wings Airlines fleet, it was in the Sukhoi Design Bureau and was not used for commercial operations.
‘The aircraft has a capacity of 100 passenger seats in economy class. Its monoclass configuration is optimised for efficient operation on the airline’s routes. The start of commercial operation is scheduled for 28 November this year. The aircraft will be based at Koltsovo International Airport in Ekaterinburg,’ the press service said.
With the commissioning of RA-89192, the total number of Superjet 100 aircraft in the Red Wings fleet will reach 21 units. This will allow the airline to increase the frequency of flights to existing destinations and open new routes both within the country and abroad, the airline’s representative explained.
