Volga-Dnepr Airlines has signed its first agreement for the use of its own integrated Automated Air Accident Prediction and Prevention System (AAPAPS) with a start-up customer, Russian commercial business aviation operator SkyLight Airlines. The ASPPAP allows management of flight safety conditions and complies with Russian and international aviation requirements and recommendations, Volga-Dnepr’s press service said.

“An individual approach is used for each customer, allowing for the most effective integration of the information system into the company’s existing processes and significantly improve the quality of flight safety management. For example, four modules will be implemented, configured and adapted for SkyLight Airlines: “Flight Safety Indicators”, “Aviation Event Database”, “Audits/Inspections” and “Risk Management”,” said a representative of Volga-Dnepr Airlines. – “This basic set will help SkyLight to continuously manage the state of flight safety, track relevant indicators in real time, manage risks, as well as identify and control the elimination of non-compliances identified as a result of audits.”

Alexander Shchukin, head of Volga-Dnepr Airlines’ Accident Prevention and Flight Safety Management Service, noted that in the challenging year of 2022 it was decided to enter the market with its own product.

“For more than eight years, our system has been used successfully in the airline industry and we realised that we could benefit other industry players, which could include airlines, airports, transport organisations. We have not only industry-specific international experience and competence, but also an understanding of regional aspects and the specifics of operating different types of aircraft, including helicopters, which allows us to identify the real ‘headaches’ of our customers and offer products that will bring them the greatest benefit,” said Alexander Schukin.

“Flight safety is our top priority, and we expect Volga-Dnepr’s flight safety and quality management solution suite to support our plans and provide the best balance between operational efficiency and flight safety. The implementation is already underway and we are looking forward to starting operation of the system in the next couple of months,” commented Maxim Zemlyakov, SkyLight’s deputy general manager for flight safety, on the signing of the agreement.
