A solemn ceremony of transferring the 42nd Boeing 737-800 aircraft to the Russian low-cost carrier took place at Vnukovo-3 airport. The acquisition of this aircraft was carried out as part of an insurance settlement, TASS reports.

During the event, the general director of Pobeda Dmitry Tyshchuk announced that the latest Boeing 737-800 (RA-73358) previously belonged to the airline Royal Flight, which ceased operations in 2022. He emphasized the importance of expanding the Pobeda fleet and highlighted the special livery applied to the aircraft.

From August 2022 to March 2024, the aircraft was stored at Sheremetyevo airport. On March 18, the plane flew to Vnukovo and then on March 23, it was flown to Ulyanovsk where the company Spectr-Avia applied the company’s signature livery Pobeda in the painting hangar. On March 31, the aircraft returned to Vnukovo.

“The fuselage of the aircraft is adorned with the brand mission ‘Inspiring travel, making flights accessible.’ This is very symbolic – for many of our customers, traveling with Pobeda becomes their first flight in life,” Dmitry Tyshchuk emphasized.

According to the airline’s CEO, the new aircraft is planned to be used in the upcoming summer season when Pobeda will operate up to 260 flights per day.

The general director highlighted that the use of a mono-fleet consisting solely of Boeing 737-800 helps optimize maintenance and service processes, reducing the carrier’s operational costs, in line with the classical low-cost carrier model.
