Luhansk plans to start servicing helicopter engines

Leonid Pasechnik, the LNR’s acting head, said in social networks about plans to resume service of Mi-8 and Mi-17 helicopter engines at the Luhansk Aircraft Repair Plant, which has been idle since 2014, by the summer.

“By joint efforts of the Government of the Russian Federation and the republic, we are bringing the Lugansk Aircraft Repair Plant back to life,” the statement said.

At the moment, UEC specialists are carrying out an inventory of the enterprise, a roadmap for the revival of the plant has been fully prepared, the reconstruction of the technological chain of service of aircraft engines has begun.

“By the summer we are planning to launch production of the first products – to start servicing engines for Mi-8 and Mi-17, and in a year and a half we will fully reach pre-war indicators,” Leonid Pasechnik said.
