Within the framework of the Eastern Economic Forum, Aeroflot and Rossiya airlines signed financial lease agreements with the leasing company Aviacapital-Service for 18 MC-21 and 34 SJ-100 aircraft. This was reported in the press service of Aeroflot.

On the part of Aeroflot the document was signed by General Director Sergey Alexandrovsky, on the part of Rossiya Airlines – by General Director Jan Burg, on the part of Aviacapital-Service – by General Director Roman Pakhomov.

Under the terms of the agreement between Aeroflot and the lessor, the airline will receive six MS-21 aircraft on lease. In turn, the agreement between Rossiya Airlines and the leasing company implies the delivery of 12 MC-21 aircraft and 34 SJ-100 aircraft.

In September 2022, at the Eastern Economic Forum, Aeroflot and UAC signed an agreement under which Aeroflot Group will acquire 339 new MC-21, SJ-100 and Tu-214 aircraft. The agreement was an important step in the implementation of the comprehensive program for the development of the Russian air transport industry until 2030, approved by the Russian Government.

Leasing transactions between Aeroflot, Rossiya Airlines and Aviacapital-Service LLC are realized in accordance with the investment project of preferential leasing of domestic aircraft approved by the Government in January this year. The project involves the transfer to Aeroflot Group of the first 52 new MC-21 and SJ-100 aircraft scheduled for delivery between now and 2025.

“The contract with Aviacapital-Service, the lessor of MC-21 and SJ-100 aircraft, is a logical continuation of the partnership with United Aircraft Corporation,” emphasized Aeroflot CEO Sergey Alexandrovsky. – The document we signed today brings Aeroflot Group closer to a long-awaited event: the arrival of modern import-substituted airplanes in our fleet”.

According to Rostec CEO Sergey Chemezov, the signed contracts are the first in a major deal to supply 339 airplanes for Aeroflot Group. Now the work on MС-21 and SJ-100 is reaching the finish line. “Unprecedented measures of state support have made it possible to significantly reduce the cost of domestic airplanes,” said the head of Rostec.

“Just two weeks ago, the SJ-100 aircraft made its first flight in the import-substituted guise, and the program of factory finalization tests has begun. The cooperation and I have a lot of work to do to certify all the changes to the airliner design. Today’s signing is an important step for the Russian aircraft industry and the entire air transportation industry,” said UAC CEO Yury Slyusar.
