The first production MC-21-310 aircraft, registration 73362, flew from Irkutsk to Ramenskoye Airport near Moscow on 13 August as the aircraft moves into the next phase of its certification programme.

The aircraft departed Irkutsk at 0815 UTC and landed at about 1400 UTC after a 5-hour 50-minute flight. It reached an altitude of 12,100 m and a maximum speed of 850 km/h, according to United Aircraft Corporation (UAC).

The flight was conducted by Yakovlev test pilots Roman Taskaev and Oleg Kononenko, together with flight-test lead engineer and onboard systems operator Aleksandr Popov. Taskaev said the aircraft performed normally during the flight, with all systems operating as expected.

Following arrival at Ramenskoye, Yakovlev’s Flight Test and Development Complex will carry out post-flight inspections of the aircraft and its systems. The 73362 is expected to support ground testing under the MC-21-310 certification programme.

The transfer of the aircraft to the Moscow region brings the first production-standard MC-21-310 into the flight-test infrastructure used for certification work. The programme is based on the domestically produced version of the MC-21, powered by Aviadvigatel PD-14 engines and equipped with Russian-developed systems and equipment.
