The United Aircraft Corporation (UAC), part of Rostec, has completed the delivery of the latest batch of Su-34 frontline bombers to the Russian Aerospace Forces (VKS) under the 2025 production program. All aircraft underwent a full range of factory ground and flight tests before handover, UAC reported.

VKS crews conducted acceptance flights and inspections before ferrying the aircraft from Novosibirsk to their permanent bases. The Su-34s delivered, produced at the Novosibirsk Aircraft Production Association named after V.P. Chkalov (NAZ), constitute the seventh and final batch for 2025. Earlier deliveries followed this schedule: first batch – April 19; second – July 10; third – August 12; fourth – September 15; fifth – October 6; sixth – November 6.

The Su-34 is designed to engage ground, surface, and select aerial targets, including infrastructure protected by air defense systems. In addition to strike missions, it can conduct aerial reconnaissance and operate at significant distances from its home airfield.

In the global context, the Su-34 is the only aircraft in the frontline bomber class. Western counterparts such as the American F-15E Strike Eagle or the European Tornado IDS perform partially similar strike roles but lack the combined crew protection, armored fuselage, and extended-range precision strike capability of the Su-34. These features distinguish it as a unique platform in tactical aviation.

The bomber is equipped to employ a wide range of guided munitions, including bombs weighing 500–3,000 kg, fitted with universal glide and correction modules. Depending on release altitude and flight profile, these munitions can achieve glide ranges of 100 km or more.

According to UAC CEO Vadim Badehi, the corporation has successfully completed its 2025 production program, and aircraft factories have commenced work on next year’s combat aircraft. “UAC enterprises maintain a high production pace, fulfilling their commitments to the Russian Aerospace Forces. This year has been one of the most productive in terms of operational-tactical aircraft deliveries,” he stated.
