The transfer ceremony took place in Komsomolsk-on-Amur, marking the delivery of the first batch in 2024. These new multi-role fighters, classified as 4++ generation aircraft, underwent comprehensive ground and flight tests in various operational modes before flying from the Komsomolsk-on-Amur Aircraft Plant (KnAAZ) to their duty stations.

The Su-35S is designed for air superiority, as well as for engaging ground and naval targets in all weather conditions and at extended ranges from the airbase. It serves as a transitional model towards fifth-generation aviation complexes. Equipped with AL-41F-1S engines featuring digital control systems and thrust vectoring, the aircraft demonstrates significantly improved flight and maneuvering characteristics.

The priority for aviation manufacturers is to ensure the consistent production and delivery of new aircraft required by the Russian Ministry of Defense. Additionally, efforts are focused on maintaining and restoring the operational readiness of existing aircraft. The Su-35S fighters delivered to the military are equipped with advanced equipment and long-range information-targeting systems.

Komsomolsk-on-Amur Aircraft Plant named after Yuri Gagarin is scheduled for production loading until 2028. The plant continues to fulfill the state defense order for supplying Su-35S and Su-57 combat aircraft to the Russian Aerospace Forces, while also collaborating with Rostec enterprises on projects for the development of Russia’s aviation industry.

The increased workload necessitates the enhancement of qualifications for current employees and the recruitment of new personnel in key technical and engineering specialties. By the end of 2024, the number of aviation workers is expected to increase by 800.

On the same day, a conference of component suppliers for the products of the Tactical Air Division of the United Aircraft Corporation (UAC) was held at KnAAZ in Komsomolsk-on-Amur. Around 90 participants attended, including UAC and Russian Ministry of Defense officials, representatives from aviation plants in Komsomolsk-on-Amur, Novosibirsk, Irkutsk, Nizhny Novgorod, and Lukhovitsy, as well as representatives from over 20 leading Russian companies producing engines, onboard radio-electronic equipment, and other components for military aircraft.

The conference aimed to discuss and find solutions to issues related to the fulfillment of state contracts.
