Yakovlev Company, which in 2020 received Sukhoi Civil Aircraft JSC, the developer of the SSJ100 regional jet, presented the aircraft’s operating statistics at the annual conference of Superjet operators in Moscow. The conference also discussed the interim results of work on localisation of repair of foreign SSJ100 components by Russian companies.
Since the date of the first commercial flight performed by the SSJ100 on 21 April 2011 as part of Armavia, the Superjet 100 aircraft of various modifications have flown more than 1,745,000 flight hours and the total number of flights has exceeded 977,000. In the third quarter of 2024, the average daily flight hours per aircraft of this type exceeded 8 hours for four airlines.
Dmitry Borisenko, PJSC Yakovlev’s Deputy General Director for Civil Aviation Customer Support, noted that the serviceability indicators of SSJ100 aircraft did not decrease after 2022, when Western partners completely stopped co-operation, and flight regularity remained at 97-98%.
‘In 2022-2023 and in the first nine months of 2024, the intensity of operation of the SSJ100 fleet exceeded the pre-pandemic indicators,’ Borisenko said.
While in February 2022, Russia was servicing 59 components of the aircraft, by November 2024, servicing of 311 component items had been mastered. Compared to 2023, the number of repaired items for a number of nomenclature items in 2024 has increased by 200 per cent or more, the speaker said.
In addition, the necessary legislative base has been formed and design support for the operation of foreign components has been organised by profile domestic developers of aviation equipment. In February 2022, the number of products provided with design support was zero, now, in November 2024, 214 components and units of the Superjet are provided with design supervision.
