Russian airline AZUR air has applied for regulatory approval to perform maintenance on CF6-80C2 and PW4000-94 engines used on its Boeing 767 aircraft, the carrier said.
The application submitted to Russia’s Federal Air Transport Agency would expand the certification of AZUR air’s maintenance organisation to include B1-rated engine maintenance.
The approval would allow the airline to remove engines from aircraft for maintenance at its own facility, carry out scheduled work, install modifications and perform post-maintenance ground tests before returning engines to service.
Boeing 767 aircraft represent the core of AZUR air’s fleet. The airline said in-house engine maintenance capability could reduce the time required to return engines to operation after scheduled servicing.
AZUR air is preparing dedicated facilities, tooling and technical documentation required for the new maintenance scope.
The airline’s maintenance centre was approved by Rosaviatsiya as compliant with FAP-145 requirements in May 2026. AZUR air currently performs maintenance on Boeing 737, 757, 767 and 777 aircraft.
