Aeroflot Transports Over Half a Million Children on Discounted Fares During Summer 2025

Aeroflot has released its summer 2025 child passenger statistics. From June through August, the airline carried more than 525,000 children aged 2 to 12 on domestic routes across Russia, all benefiting from a fixed 50% discount. The most popular destinations included routes between Moscow and Sochi, Kaliningrad, St. Petersburg, Vladivostok, Khabarovsk, Mineralnye Vody, Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, Yekaterinburg, Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk, as well as St. Petersburg–Sochi flights.

From January to August 2025, over 821,000 children took advantage of the 50% discount program on domestic flights operated by Aeroflot and Rossiya Airlines. The average monthly figure for this period reached 102,625 young passengers. During the three summer months, the total number of children aged 0 to 12 traveling with Aeroflot and Rossiya exceeded 850,000, marking a 7% increase compared to the same period in 2024. Over the first eight months of 2025, this figure approached 1.4 million, also up 7% year-over-year.

Aeroflot and Rossiya offer an unaccompanied minor service for passengers aged 5 to 16 traveling without an adult. In summer 2025, more than 11,000 unaccompanied minors were transported. The service was most frequently requested on routes such as Moscow–Vladivostok, Moscow–Khabarovsk, Moscow–Sochi, Moscow–Novosibirsk, and Moscow–Kaliningrad.

In 2024, Aeroflot carried 30.1 million passengers, while the Aeroflot Group’s total passenger traffic reached 55.3 million. The Group includes Rossiya Airlines and Pobeda Airlines. The Group plans to acquire 339 domestically produced aircraft. As part of its social policy, Aeroflot implements programs to improve regional transport accessibility, expand its route network, and maintain socially oriented fares, including “flat fares” on flights to cities in the Russian Far East and Kaliningrad.

Aeroflot has operated for over a century and remains one of the most recognized brands in Russian aviation. The company continues to expand its range of services for various passenger categories, including children, and adopts modern solutions to enhance service quality.
