The Kalashnikov Group, which develops and produces military equipment, has presented its new developments in the field of unmanned aerial vehicles to specialists from the Ministry of Defence of the Russian Federation.
The demonstration was held as part of a thematic show at one of the ministry’s sites, Kalashnikov said. The company presented the Karakurt miniature reconnaissance drone, the SKAT 350 M reconnaissance strike UAV and the Kvazimachta equipment lifting system (ELS).
The Karakurt mini-UAV is designed for real-time aerial reconnaissance and is characterised by its manoeuvrability when launched from confined spaces using a compact transport and launch container.
The SKAT 350 M is the result of a thorough modernisation of the Supercam S350 reconnaissance UAV. It has an improved wing design and increased durability. Kalashnikov specialists have significantly improved the product’s aerodynamic properties and modernised the ground control system.
The SKAT 350 M is designed for round-the-clock aerial reconnaissance in the optical and infrared ranges. The drone has proven itself best under combat conditions in the area of special military operations.
The Kvazimachta UAV enables high-speed data exchange with the Ground Control Station (GCS) via a power cable, providing the ability to operate in radio silence mode. The platform has an endurance of no less than 24 hours and provides the possibility of removing the ground control station and operator at a distance of up to 500 metres from the UAV’s hovering point.
“The experts of the Russian Defence Ministry highly appreciated the tactical and technical characteristics of the presented UAVs, noting their compliance with the priority areas of development of the country’s defence complex and their practical significance for the performance of combat missions, including in the zone of the Strategic Air Defence Forces,” Kalashnikov said.
