The Russian airline’s fleet has been expanded with the delivery of a domestically produced Sukhoi Superjet 100 Yakutsk. The arrival of the aircraft with tail number RA-89042 completed the intra-group transfer of aircraft of this type from Aeroflot to the subsidiary airline, the press service of the parent carrier said.

In 2022, the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) will celebrate a landmark date – the 100th anniversary of the Yakut ASSR. The region’s administration approached Rossiya with a proposal to name one of its planes after the republic’s capital. The airline supported the idea and named the SuperJet 100 after Yakutsk, following the tradition of naming aircraft after cities in the country.

The Rossiya Airlines livery is applied to an aircraft in Ulyanovsk at the production facility of the country’s largest aviation paint shop, Spektr-Avia. The name and emblem of Yakutsk are placed on the nose of the aircraft fuselage under the cockpit.

The Yakutsk Superjet 100 will perform flights on all domestic routes of the airline’s route network, where flights of this type are operated.
