Rosaviatsia issued a certificate of conformity to Arkhangelsk airport after the reconstruction of the runway

Talagi Airport in Arkhangelsk has completed the reconstruction of the runway and received a certificate from Rosaviatsia confirming its compliance with all safety requirements and standards. The aerodrome is ready to accept aircraft without restrictions on take-off weight. The document of compliance was issued to Arkhangelsk International Airport named after Fyodor Abramov on 28 November. This was reported in the press service of the Government of the Arkhangelsk region.

Deputy Chairman of the Government, Dmitry Rozhin noted that now the main task is to relocate the necessary equipment and facilities, as well as to prepare the airport building to receive the first passengers.

According to the certificate, the Talagi airport aerodrome has class “B”, the size of the runway is 2500×44 metres. During the certification process, Rosaviatsia specialists checked the radio, lighting and electrical equipment, as well as assessed the condition of the runway surface. The commission confirmed the aerodrome’s compliance with the regulatory documents.

The runway at the Arkhangelsk airport has not been repaired for more than 40 years. The reconstruction works started on 1 May and were completed in the shortest possible time, the airport is ready to receive passengers, the regional government stressed.

The second stage of reconstruction is planned for 2024. An emergency rescue station and a training ground, roads for special vehicles and access roads will be built, a perimeter fence and fire water reserve tanks will be installed. The works will be carried out in parallel with passenger services and will not require the closure of the airport.
