Since June 1, 2024 under the programme of high-frequency flights Shuttle between Moscow and St. Petersburg, implemented by the group Aeroflot, carried more than 1 million passengers. This was reported in the press service of the carrier.

The flights are performed jointly by Aeroflot and its subsidiary airline Rossiya. The frequency of flights from Sheremetyevo to Pulkovo and back is 15 minutes, and from Vnukovo to Pulkovo and back – 30 minutes. The total number of flights in the programme reaches 70 per day, providing a high level of accessibility and flexibility for passengers.

‘The high-intensity flights between the two capitals are orientated for both spontaneous trips and pre-planned trips. Aeroflot and Rossiya operate flights on a variety of aircraft types, including the Superjet 100. In the first two months of operation, the Shuttle programme has shown, in our estimation, an excellent result: more than 1 million passengers have been carried. Such passenger traffic indicates the high demand for the programme and its positive contribution to the development of air service between Moscow and St. Petersburg’, commented our website in the airline Russia.

Under the Shuttle programme, Rossiya provides two classes of service: economy and business. There is a flexible system of fares for passengers with hand luggage, allowing them to quickly change their plans and depart earlier or later than the time specified in the ticket. The same option is available for passengers with baggage travelling on Basic, Optimum and Maximum fares in all classes of service. The high demand for a flexible approach to travel planning is confirmed by the fact that more than 7,900 passengers used this feature in the first two months.

The total number of flights operated under the programme includes 42 from Sheremetyevo, 24 from Vnukovo and three flights from Domodedovo. The implementation of the Shuttle programme not only improves the availability of air travel between the capitals, but also contributes to the development of domestic tourism and business travel. Analysis of the success of this direction may lead to the introduction of similar programmes in other regions.
