In Ulan-Ude due to engine failure made an emergency landing Tu-204C cargo aircraft

In the morning of 7 December, a TU-204S (RA-64024) cargo plane of Aviastar-TU airline had an incident near Ulan-Ude airfield (Mukhino). After takeoff at Zhengzhou airport in China, the aircraft crew requested an emergency landing due to a stall of propulsion unit No. 1, which was switched off. The aircraft landed safely at Ulan-Ude airport at 03:28 Moscow time (08:28 local time). none of those on board were hurt.

According to the telegram channel Representative of Rosaviatsia, after a successful landing, the Tu-204 cleared the runway and taxied to the car park on its own. A decision was made to suspend the machine from flights for a technical assessment of its condition. The aircraft was not loaded with commercial cargo and had five people on board: three crew members and two specialists from the engineering staff.

The event has been classified as an incident and is being investigated by the East-Siberian Interregional Territorial Directorate (ITD) of Rosaviatsia. Experts will conduct a thorough analysis of the incident to find out the reasons for the malfunction.

The Tu-204C aircraft is a cargo modification of the Tu-204 airliner, equipped with two PS-90A turbojet engines. The aircraft is designed to carry cargoes weighing up to 30 tonnes on air routes up to 2370 km long or cargoes weighing 13.6 tonnes for a distance of up to 6820 km. The aircraft has a take-off weight of 107.5 tonnes.

On 25 June 2023, when taxiing to the car park at Ulan-Ude airport, the RA-64024 aircraft hit the left wing tip of a Boeing-757 (RA-73355), also belonging to Aviastar-TU Airlines, which was parked at the adjacent car park. As a result of the incident, the Tu-204C sustained significant damage to the wing tip.

On 8 January 2022, at Hangzhou International Airport, while preparing for a flight to Tolmachevo, a TU-204 cargo aircraft, registration number RA-64032, of Aviastar-TU Airlines, fractured and was almost completely destroyed in a fire. None of the crew was injured.
